How does one...

Discipline a cat? Honestly, I am so unfamilar with cats that I don't know how to handle this one.
I mean if my child scratches another child they are getting spanked and going to there rooms for a good heart to heart.
If my child purposely pokes a claw into another childs chest because they are angry about being removed from upstairs, I am going to deal severly with that child.
So what do you do with a kitten that does these things?
All I know to do is pop it and send it to it's bathroom.
Am I crazy? Does time removed from the family mean anything to kitty?
It means something to my falling apart daughter who cried and accused me of hating her cat for sending it to the bathroom.
Oh good grief is all I could say. How else do I respond to a 6 year old crying over my disciplining of a cat.

So really, how do you discipline a cat for scratching and clawing on purpose?

Also, I think the cat senses my uncomfortableness. When I sit on the couch in the evening she jumps up on the end of the couch and gets into a pouncing position. Stacy then taunts me and says continually "get her Anna", which isn't nice of him. Then she pounces on my leg and scares me to death and then I jump up and scream because I don't like being pounced on. Then Stacy laughs and I go to another room where the cat can't taunt me anymore.

How do you discipline a husband for encouraging a cat to pounce on his slightly afraid wife?

Help me!

I'm no expert on the disciplining of cats, but my Grams used to always keep a very small water gun around (like, the cheapo kind, not the turbo bazooka kind) and squirt the kitty whenever she would do things like jump on the counters or get into stuff she wasn't supposed to.

I think the kitten is acting out because it needs attention- from YOU! Being a cat expert, I think you should hold the kitty more, maybe rub your face all over hers, let it sleep in the bed with you. That should solve everything!

Now Jennifer...you cannot comment on my blog if you are not going to be helpful! Maybe I need that Kitty fabric back. I can use it as a shield!

I think the water gun/squirt bottle method would work on cat and husband. :)

SPCA - for both.

If that's not an option, then I go with the squirt gun/bottle on both.

BTW - I love the VBS set! AMAZING!

I am laughing so hard! I say spank him and send him to his room!

Still laughing. I just read all the comments. I think you should get a big bazooka water gun! I'm on your side.

The cat knows you are not a cat person that is why she taunts you. Eventually you two will learn to like each other, until then you better get used to it!

O, and I agree - water bottle. Keep it in your side pocket readily available.

Missy informed me that she thought I had a typo in my post.

SPCA - a.k.a. Animal shelter (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).

You can also spank on the nose. That is what I've always heard to do. They don't like it.

I can see you walking bow-legged through your house with your water gun. John Wayne voice, "Now see here, kitty-cat. This house ain't big enough for the two of us." Squirt-squirt.
